Gerry McCluskey (Past Speaker)

Gerry McCluskey is VP, Business Development and Alliance Management at Horizon Pharma.  In this role, he is responsible for managing relationships with selected partners and performing diligence and analysis surrounding transactions.  Gerry has over 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry in the areas of commercial analysis, finance, marketing, alliance management and business development.

Prior to joining Horizon in 2010, Gerry was senior director, Commercial Analysis for Lundbeck.  Lundbeck is a biopharmaceutical company focused primarily on the development of products for diseases of the central nervous system.   During his tenure with Lundbeck, Gerry was involved with various aspects of commercial analysis surrounding a portfolio of products that included retail, specialty and hospital distribution.  

Prior to Lundbeck, Gerry spent 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry in various financial, commercial analysis and marketing roles.  At Abbott, Gerry served in roles of forecasting and product management for the Diabetes and Metabolics Franchise.  As CFO/Controller at Sirius Laboratories, Gerry managed all financial issues related to this privately held biopharmaceutical startup focused on Dermatology.  During his tenure with Searle, Gerry advanced through various roles in the finance organization.  At Searle he was the lead commercial analysis representative for Daypro, Arthrotec and Celebrex including participation in the joint commercialization of Celebrex with Pfizer.

Gerry holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from DePaul University and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.
